Students give Pilbara TAFE the thumbs up

Pilbara TAFE students recently gave the college the thumbs up, with a recent survey citing 86% of them were satisfied or highly satisfied with their choice of training provider.

Pilbara TAFE’s Managing Director, Dr Barry McKnight, said he was extremely pleased with the findings.

“This result is outstanding, especially in view of the fact that last year our rate was somewhat lower,” he said.

“It is a great reflection on college staff that we’ve improved our students’ perception of our products and services. Some of these changes have come about because of the quality improvement processes that we put in place to address the deficit areas identified in 2007.”

The TAFEWA 2008 Satisfaction Survey is a yearly survey undertaken by an independent contractor for the Department of Education and Training to measure levels of satisfaction among TAFE students. Students are asked a range of questions on a range of areas including their reasons for studying, their satisfaction with the quality of teaching and the facilities and services on offer.

“As Pilbara TAFE is the largest training provider in the region, with more than 6000 students enrolled, including 1500 apprentices and trainees, we are committed to ensuring our training delivery meets and even exceeds expectations,” Dr McKnight said.

“I would like to congratulate all staff for their efforts in ensuring Pilbara TAFE is recognized as the first choice training provider in the North West.”

Enrolments for courses in 2009 are open now. For more information, contact 1300 304 244 or visit your nearest TAFE campus.
