Save up to $570 each semester with course fee exemptions
Are you unemployed and want to study to improve your situation? This is your chance to gain a vocational qualification at Pilbara TAFE thanks to new government incentives.
From July 1st, if you are unemployed, tuition fees will be waived for one publicly funded vocational education and training qualification of your choice. (Please note - resource fees will still be charged as applicable.) Course fee exemptions apply for up to 12 months from the commencement of the qualification.
To be eligible – you must produce a current
- Centrelink Health Care Card – New Start Allowance
- Centrelink Health Care Card – Youth Allowance - Job Seeker
- Current Job Seeker ID issued by Centrelink or Job Network Member on their official letterhead.
To enroll, you will have to comply with Pilbara TAFE’s application processes and meet the entrance criteria for your chosen qualification.
Course fee exemptions apply for up to 12 months from the commencement of the qualification.
REDUCED FEES FOR RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Furthermore, there are also incentives for all Pilbara residents to gain formal recognition of their skills through the Recognition of Prior (RPL) process. This means you may gain all or part of a qualification due your life or work experience.
All applicants applying for RPL will now receive a 50% reduction in their fees and applicants who have a concession may receive a further reduction on fees. Those applicants who are unemployed and can provided evidence of this (as above) will have their RPL applications processed for zero fees.
