Students studying as apprentices or trainees will receive a Statement of Academic Record by mail once a term, usually within four weeks of the end of term. All other students will receive a Statement of Academic Record once a semester. To ensure that all documents are received, students should notify Client Services immediately of any change of address. A Statement of Academic Record or Statement of Attainment is also available on request.
Explanation of Results
Competency Based Results
| Grade | Description |
|---|---|
| CO | Competent |
| E | Exemption |
| R | Re-enrol |
| H* | Result withheld – competency not yet achieved |
| NA | Non assessable |
| CP* | Competency - Provisional |
H* - a lecturer will withhold the result when a student has not finished all the required competencies of a unit of competency within the required time. It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements to complete the outstanding competencies. A result of 'H' that has not been redeemed to a CO grade within two months of the roll completion date (for classes) or the limitation date (for flexible learning) will be converted to a grade of R.
CP* - this result is only applicable to apprentices. It signifies that the student has gained competency in the off-the-job requirements but the full term of the apprentice’s indenture has not been reached and/or final signoff in the Training Record Book has not yet been sighted by the college. Once formal signoff of all on-the-job and off-the-job requirements is received from all parties, the CP results are converted to CO.
Graded Performance Results
The Training Assessment Plan indicates if Graded Performance is applicable to the area of study. The lecturer will provide additional information on the criteria used for grading.
| Grade | Description |
|---|---|
| PD | Performance with Distinction |
| PM | Performance with Merit |
| PC | Performance graded as competent |
| PN | Ineligible for performance grade |
| PX | Performance grade under evaluation |
The grading criteria are:
- Demonstrated breadth of underpinning knowledge (applied to the assessment task)
- Communication, people networking, language and interpersonal skills
- Techniques and processes
- Work organisation
- Level of independence and performance of work tasks
These criteria are common across all qualifications affected by Graded Performance. Students should discuss performance requirements with the lecturer.
Students will not be required to undertake a separate assessment task to be eligible for grades, and the lecturer will explain to students at the time of assessment how these criteria will be assessed.
Graduation / Issuance of Qualifications
Students must complete all of the academic requirements of the qualification and pay all fees in order to graduate. A Qualifications Application form must be completed and lodged with Client Services to receive the formal qualification.
