Study Options
Different Ways to Learn
Full-time – an enrolment requiring more than 221 hours per semester or 13 hours per week. Full-time students should contact Centrelink to discuss their eligibility for allowances.
Part-time – means that you are enrolled less than 13 hours per week, in any unit(s) of a qualification or course.
Traditional Learning – students attend scheduled ‘face-to-face’ classes.
Flexible Learning – students may be able to complete studies at home, at work or by using the facilities at Pilbara TAFE campuses. Studies may be completed using a combination of different methods, these may include: self paced resources, workshops, tutorials, on-line, video conferencing, paper based resources or any combination of these methods.
On-Line Learning – a flexible learning option that does not require traditional classroom attendance. On-line learning is available in selected areas and can be accessed from computers with connection to the internet.
Block Release for Apprentices and Trainees – students attend Pilbara TAFE for one or more consecutive weeks to complete units of study.
Alternative Formats – Course materials can be provided in alternative formats. Please discuss these options with your lecturer.
